Physical inactivity and sedentary lifestyles are key drivers of rising NCD rates. Yet, many communities lack access to safe, inclusive, and well-designed spaces for exercise and recreation. Our approach will go beyond simply constructing facilities—we will embed physical activity into the fabric of daily life, making movement an accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable part of community culture. We will use:
The Center will feature a public gym, indoor and outdoor sports courts, walking tracks, and fitness zones that will host community fitness classes (e.g., aerobics, Zumba, yoga), walking clubs and running groups, school-based sports competitions and health challenges, and intergenerational community sports tournaments to normalize active living as fun, inclusive, and sustainable
But more importantly, we will embed movement into every outreach initiative—from school-based physical activity, warm-up sessions at medical camps to village marathons, community walks, and sports tournaments during awareness drives.
Staff, coaches, and volunteers will champion activity through structured and spontaneous engagement—ensuring physical activity becomes both accessible and socially embedded.
These programs will be open to the public, with targeted engagement for those at risk of NCDs.
